Singapore Shambhala Group
Shambhala is the name of an archetypal society known as the Kingdom of Shambhala - an enlightened model of human dignity and compassion. It is inspired by the innate wakefulness of the human heart. It finds its natural expression in personal openness, kindness and insight. It inspires fearlessness, compassion and confidence.
Practice and Study
Practice and study in the Shambhala community combines the wisdom of the Tibetan Kagyu and Nyingma lineages with the imperial lineage of the Shambhala teachings.
Meditation
In the Shambhala Centers, we place great emphasis on a thorough training in meditation. The meditation we practice here stems from both Tibetan Buddhism, as well as the Zen tradition. The ongoing practice of mindfulness/awareness meditation is important in really working with ourselves, in seeing our fears and wakefulness and training our mind fully and completely.
